If you have a broken timepiece or simply one that needs a professional servicing outside of the warranty period; Precision Time are pleased to offer a service quicker and guaranteed cheaper than using the official watch house service centres.

All our watchmakers have worked at the major watch houses and trained to BHI standard (British Horological Institute Watchmaker).  All equipment used are to the latest highest standards to ensure your watch is professionally looked after.

Reasons To Use Us

• Our typical repair turnaround times are between 1-3 weeks compared with the standard 6-12 weeks of the major watch houses 
• All our servicing and repair work is done using only new official manufacturer parts and guaranteed for 12 months. 
• Our prices are significantly cheaper than the high street for all of the repair services provided. Typically up to 50% cheaper than using the manufacturer in-house service centre but with the same high quaility service due to having less overheads of being an internet store.

Watch Case / Bracelet Refurbishment

Unfortunately no matter how much we look after a treasured timepiece, scratches and dirt will appear on the exposed parts of the watch. We can offer a service that will refurbish a watch to an almost new condition.

Prices are dependant on the amount of work required. Please send your watch to us for an estimate. (Prices range from £75 (for light work) to £95 (for heavy scratching))

We are able to re-gold plate bracelets and cases where the plating has been scratched off. Estimates required depending on the amount of gold plating required.

Battery / Cell replacement for quartz movements

We can fit a new battery to most quartz / electronic watches. Prices start from only £10 for a basic fit. If you intend to use the watch for swimming or water activities then we recommend having the watch resealed and pressure tested to ensure the water resistance is correct.

We can fit new parts for most types of watches if anything is broken or needs replacing, as there are thousands of different watch brands the service charges vary with watch complexity, costs of spares, tooling and time undertaken

Note: In situations where case parts have been lost or damaged, the condition of the movement inside the case may also be compromised and additional repairs may be required (e.g water / moisture damage).

Watch Servicing Price List

If your watch is running inaccurately or has stopped we can offer a full service to restore your watch to fully working order.

For mechanical watches even if your watch is running accurately we recommend you service your automatic watch every 4 to 5 years . These type of watches contain many constantly moving parts that wear down eventually so a regular service is essential.

Our typical watch service includes:

• Watches are stripped down and then cleaned internally to remove any built-up debris.
• Any worn parts are replaced with new official manufacturer parts.
  
• The movement is then lubricated and then re-assembled. All water-resistant seals will be replaced.
• The watch is then left on timing test using the latest equipment for 72 hours. All movements are accuracy tested in 5 different positions.
  
• The case and bracelet are ultrasonic cleaned, refurbished (fine brushed / polished to remove minor scratches) to look almost to its original condition
  
• The watch is then water-resistance tested in dry and wet settings on vacuum/pressure machine to the original watch specifications.
• Work is guaranteed for 12 months.
• If the work costs more than the quoted price we will inform you before any work is started
  

Rolex / Tudor Servicing Price List

All Rolex Services include a new fitted original mainspring and a full refurbishment of the case and bracelet.

All other case parts or movement parts which are fitted will be charged extra except for sale.

The watch is also dry/wet tested vacuum/pressure to 100m

All Vintage Rolex watches, Oysters, Bubble-backs, Princes etc are subject to estimate.

Terms and Conditions

• All prices include VAT @ 17.50% (correct as of Nov 2008).
• Delivery charge of £8.55 will be added to cover cost of return postage using Royal Mail Special Delivery (Signed for before 1pm).
• Payment to be made upon completion of repair.
• Payments can be made by cheque or credit/debit card. We are sorry do not accept American Express.
• If we receive a watch for repair that is quoted but not proceeded with then a postage return cost of £8.55 applies.

Watch repair procedure

1. Fill in our watch repair form (opens in a new window)
2. Please put protective wrap around the watch case to prevent potential damage during transit.
3. Pack your watch and completed watch repair form in a protective box.(do not send the original presentation box or any manuals as this will cost more to post due to the extra weight)
   
4. Label the the outside of box to go to our address:

5. Take the watch to your local post office and post by Special Delivery Recorded Signed-For (You can insure your watch up to the value of £2500)
6. When we receive your watch we will contact you (email or telephone) to confirm receipt of the watch
7. The watch will be assesed by our watchmaker who will assess the work required and time required (if the repair will cost more than the estimate we will inform you at this stage)
8. If you agree to proceed with the repair we will send an acknowledgement with the estimated timeframe.
9. Once the work is completed we will contact you for the payment
10. Your watch will be returned via Royal Mail Special Delivery (signed for and insured up to the full value)
